How To Deal With Indulgent Weekends
How to deal with indulgent weekends! Punish ourselves with a detox? Start a crash diet on the Monday? Promise ourselves we will never eat badly again and decide an alcohol free month is the only way to recover?
Let me break this down for you………give you some top tips and probably give you some hope that you can indulge again!
MOVE ON, GET OVER IT
The more you dwell and sit in regret the longer you feel like crap!!!! It’s happened!! Get back on track…..DO NOT sabotage more in your own bid to punish yourself!! The sooner you can just draw a line under it and move on the better. The ultimate self sabotage is to let the indulgence carry on for a week after in pure hatred of yourself for indulging in the first place.
STEP AWAY FROM THE DETOX
Do not go 100% “detox” after an indulgent time……..it will make you feel awful and likely spiral you into eating more of that weekend indulgence!! Go easy on yourself for a couple of days, make great choices, train, move and you will feel better very quickly.
FEEL THE CONSEQUENCES
Feel the consequences!! OUCH! That tummy ache, bloated feeling and pure lethargy from eating and drinking to excess!! Does it make you feel good? Make you a productive powerhouse full of energy? I’m guessing the answer is a big fat no so hold onto that feeling to remind yourself next time!
BE SMART
Be smart…….one weekend or a week or two’s holiday is NOT going to sabotage all your progress!! It’s amazing how we can all conjure up in our heads the damage we have caused when it was only very small and the key……..as soon as the weekend is over or the holiday is over, you get back to it and incredibly within 3-4 days you feel how you did previously! It’s never as bad as you think.
